“Mary and Max” animation saw the world in 2009. It has become one of the loudest premiers because this movie is quite unusual. “Mary and Max” was directed by Adam Elliot. He is famous with his trilogy “Uncle”, “Brother” and “Cousin”. He won Oscar in 2003 and in 2009 presented the next work. “Mary and Max” is based on real life events. In some sense, the director projected his life on the screen.

“Mary and Max” shows two main characters.

Mary is an 8-year-old girl who lives in Australia. She has an unhappy family: her father left and mother is hard-hearted. She can’t enjoy the things that are available for other girls of the same age.

Max is a 44-year-old American man living in New-York. He is unhappy and has many problems. Max is fat and ugly. He has no friends and is used to talk only in the Internet.

How do these extremely different people find each other? One day Mary decides to write a letter to a stranger. She chooses random name from a phone book and writes a man named Max. Here this unusual friendship starts…
