In 1974 when the Academy gave the first Oscar to sequel it seemed to be impossible to see such Oscar again. Sequels are seldom become popular and well done movies. But Irvin Kershner gave the world his best, profound, visually beautiful and perfectly acted next part of “Star Wars”. “The Empire Strikes Back” is a real George Lucas’s triumph as scrip writer. The director Irvin Kershner and all the actors also did their best. George Lucas devoted the V episode to two things. The first is reflecting the character of the most complex personage – Luke Skywater. He comes to man’s estate at this episode. Now he is not just a farmer guy from a small town. Skywater is the most powerful soldier and rebel fighting for Galactic freedom and he is going not to stop this war until the Empire is dead. He implements his ardor and courage on the planet Hot while fighting with empire machines. Luke:
All right, I'll give it a try. The appearance in the V episode of new heroes, new creatures and new machines proves us of George Lucas’s fantasy being inexhaustible and infinite. We can see absolutely new places and new story. But it closely connected with previous series. The movie is really exciting. Performance is done perfectly! The second thing shown in V episode is the beginning of new relationships between Han Solo and princess Leia. They fall in love with each other so unexpectedly..
Han Solo:
You're trembling. Though the Empire deeps into darkness our
lovely heroes are able to help because thy have the most important things –
friendship, love and strong belief in themselves. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back is a 1980 space opera film directed by Irvin Kershner.
